NTP

to fix it on Fedora core:

• edit /etc/ntp/step-servers - init.d uses it
• chown ntp:ntp /etc/ntp

other problems:

• make sure server (either 10/8 or ext ip) is correct in ntp.conf
• FC3 only: disable selinux (/etc/selinux/config) (is this not needed if /etc/ntp ownership is correct?)
