Sentinel32, with 2 power supplies
Connecting to the SCS
The SCS has two uplinks, one is on an independent uplink from the colo's network (to allow out of band access even in case our switch is dead/unreachable), one is on our internal network:
- External IP: 64.156.25.110
- Internal IP: 10.0.0.220
Use ssh scs from a server of the cluster, or ssh scs-ext.wikimedia.org from anywhere
SCS commands
- connecting to a server in interactive mode: connect server_name
- escape interactive mode: Esc + A (uppercase)
- symlinks to the serial ports and their buffers: /lsi/ports
- save saves configuration changes to non-volatile memory
- lsp lists the serial ports and their names
- lsc lists active connections
- stty configures serial port parameters, but to make the changes permanent, /etc/rc.d/rc.serial must be edited
- to rename a port: stty -F /lsi/ports/port23 --name=zwinger
- to clear a port buffer: stty --clear -F /lsi/ports/buf_name
- read chapter 9 of the manual (linked below) for more
The port connectors are in four chunks of 8 ports, upper and lower rows of four. In each chunk the bottom four ports are labelled 1-4 and top 5-8. Leftmost chunk is ports 1-8, then 9-16, 17-24 and 25-32:
5/5 6/6 7/7 8/8 5/13 6/14 7/15 8/16 5/21 6/22 7/23 8/24 5/29 6/30 7/31 8/32 1/1 2/2 3/3 4/4 1/ 9 2/10 3/11 4/12 1/17 2/18 3/19 4/20 1/25 2/26 3/27 4/28
